Sania in Third Round of the Australian Open

The Tricolor disrespect row disturbed Sania so much, that she started to think to retire from the game of tennis. But at the same time it made her mentally strong enough to march ahead coolly to the third round of the opening Grand Slam Tournament of the Year.

In her second round match Sania beat Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland 6-1, 4-6, 7-5.It took 44 minutes to Sania to overpower her opponent. Now she has to meet eighth-seeded Venus Williams of the USA in her third round outing. Venus is already in full flow and the previous encounter with Sania saw Venus a winner beating Sania in straight sets. Meanwhile her doubles match is also in progress and the results are expected later in the day. Here in the doubles arena she is partnering Alicia Molik of Australia and it is the second round match.

It is a encounter which is keenly awaited by most of her fans.

We also invite the support for Sania for the match.

It happens only in India……….

A Local court In Bhopal issued summons to tennis star Sania Mirza for allegedly disrespecting national flag during a function some time back. The case was filed by a social worker Prakash Singh Thakur under the Prevention of Insult to the National Honor Act (1971). It is highly shameful that some people like to exaggerate the things too much. The picture is not capable of explaining the situation correctly and it is being interpreted in the wrong spirit.

Here I would like to Question Mr. Thakur Why he is not filing a suit against M/s Nirmala Devi , The self proclaimed Goddess for the gross disrespect for the tricolor? (Pictures shown above ) Sania is being penalized as she is a sports person and so called Nirmala Devi is being left untouched as she is a religious figure?

I want support from all of the Sania Fans to come together and fight it out.

Sania seeded 31 in the Australian Open

After crashing out from the Hobart tournament in the second round Sania is preparing hard for the forthcoming Australian open tournament where Sania is seeded 31 for the first time in her career. Meanwhile a furore back home over a photograph that shows her resting her bare feet near the national flag published on Friday literally shook her. A complaint had been already filed in the Hyderabad High Court demanding action, which can carry a three-year jail term if convicted.

Sania is deeply upset over the issue and so we are. However we may pray to the almighty to clear all the controversies before the start of the Australian Open. May The Force Be With You Sania!

Wishing you lots of luck.

Hopman Cup : Sania knocked down by hip muscle sprain.

Sania got injured in the very first game against Safarova of Czech Republic on Thursday. However she tried to put a stiff fight for the game but ultimately lost 2-6, 6-4, 3-6. During the game she had to take many injury breaks to continue the game but it was a very tall order to sustain against the Czech player. Sania has been advised rest for couple of days.

The Next engagement is due on 7th January, in Hobart.

Sania looses her doubles partner for the first Grand Slam event of 2008.

In the beginning of the year Sania received a big jolt as her doubles partner for the forthcoming Australian Open, Meghann Shaughnessy of US seriously injured with a damaged knee. Meghann was declared unfit and to be out of action for next six months as per the doctors attending her.

The Australian Open tournament is scheduled to start from 14th January. Time left is very short for Sania to get a new partner for the said event. However, she will participate in the singles and the mixed doubles event of the tournament. In the mixed doubles tournament Sania has teamed up with the fellow countryman Mahesh Bhupathi. There may be one blessing in the disguise for Sania and that is she would be able to concentrate more on her singles matches.

Welcome 2008 with Hopman cup

After the much needed rest Sania entered and posted her authority in the opening session of the 2008 Hopman cup challenge where she has teamed up with fellow countryman Rohan Bopanna. In her singles match Sania outclassed Alicia Molik 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. In the mixed doubles match also the pair went ahead to beat the Australian pair of Alicia Molik and Peter Luczak 6-2,4-6, 11-13 and thus paved the way to the final.

I think this is the own style of Sania to greet her fans with a happy New Year wish.
Let us join her and wish her a very warm and successful 2008.

Saniya bares the facts about her poor run in the recent tournaments.

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza told that she pulled an abdominal muscle during her quarterfinal loss to Italian Flavia Pennetta during Japan Open tournament. After that she struggled through the tournaments in Moscow and Zurich, without much success. It was very difficult to perform with the injury refusing to heal. Therefore she decided to pull out of Linz and Quebec City tournaments scheduled in the latter part of this year. It’s the same kind of injury she suffered earlier in the summer before the French Open. Sania has been advised rest and will now take a complete break from the game.

Sania said that it was a long and hard year for her, where she was forced to make repeated comebacks due to two serious injuries and a surgery. It is true that Sania is mentally tired and her body is literally crying for a break.

Therefore we would like to wish her a speedy recovery with Lot of luck for the forthcoming fixtures while she takes on the court sometime next year.

Sania crashes out of Zurich Open too.

All of a sudden things are not working for Sania, she has to bow out of the $1.3 million Zürich Open WTA event in the first round. Sania conceded a 6-1, 6-4 defeat to Michaella Krajicek. Very recently she was shown the door in the Kremlin Open too. She was not able to convert her breakpoints and gave away the match to the young Dutch girl easily. It was very sad.

in the Doubles Sania has teamed up with Patty Schnyder let us see how far she goes in the doubles event. Meanwhile the news is out that Sania will again lead her country’s challenge at the Hopman Cup later this year.

Now let us pray that the Power to be with Her.

Sania crashes out from Kremlin Open.

After the singles first round ouster from the Kremlin open Sania crashed out of the Doubles tournament also. Sania, partnering Patty Schnyder of Switzerland, went down fighting 6-3, 5-7, 10-7 against top seed Cara Black of Zimbabwe and Liezel Huber of USA in the $2,340,000 Tier 1 tournament’s doubles quarterfinal.

There is something still wrong which Sania has to figure out, as far as this tournament is concerned it was very though as many big names crashed out of the tournament. However we would like to add only this much- Sania try to keep up your tempo in the forthcoming events and we love you very much. BEST OF LUCK.

Sania Ousted in first round in singles but advances in doubles.

In the Kremlin Open Sania got out of the singles tournament losing her first round match to Argentine Gisela Dulko on Tuesday, till we could fix our gaze properly on the tournament, however she was able to advance to the second round of the double tournament along with her partner Patty Schnyder of Switzerland. Sania and Patty Schnyder beat Vera Dushevina of Russia and Tatiana Perebiyinis of Ukraine in straight sets to advance to the second round in the doubles competition of the WTA Kremlin Open. They scored a 6-1 6-3 win to set up a clash with top seed Cara Black of Zimbabwe and Liezel Huber of USA.
