Like Morocco it is that same old story. Saniya with her compatriot from taipai managed to enter the semi final of the $200,000 WTA tournament at Istanbul. Recently she faultered in the singles event of this tournament also after the Morocco tournament, here also she was ousted in the very first round of the singles event. It seems that Sania is much more comfortable in participation for the doubles and mixed doubles events, as her record shows that her success rate is far greater in the doubles events as compared to the singles events.

It was the same story in the WTA Istanbul Cup also, Sania bows out in the singles first round itself. She lost to Meghann Shaughnessy of U.S. 6-4, 6-3.
It seems that lack of the match practise and lack of form still haunting her badly and coming out in the series of defeats. Her participation is going to give her fans lot of diappointment. I think it would be better for her to get some match practise before entering further in the tournaments as this would give her tremendous pressure also to perform better in the next tournament which may again give the repeat of the result.
However we can wish her lots of the luck from us and from her indian fans.

The crashing out of Sania from the Singles attracted comments from many of her fans. The lack of match practise may be one of the causes but match fitness may have played the equally vital part in her crashing out. However let us leave the old matter for a while and try to clelebrate her latest win in the doubles in the Morocco. At least it may give some sort of solace to her fans, who were disappointed by her dismal performance in the Singles event.

It was a rare and first time honour for any Indian to get the top seeding at any WTA tournament. Expectations from her were very high as she was on a comeback trail after a long period of 8 weeks.

As expected the lack of match practise and the surface which was not her favourite one, posed some serious questions before her and Sania was not able to answer those. The result she crashed out of the singles in the first round itself.

However she is there in the doubles and was able to sustain . We can only say that prctise hard Saniya and Better luck in the next tournament.
